Day 1: Arrive San Francisco
Arrive in San Francisco and transfer to your hotel at Fisherman’s Wharf. If you arrive early, leave your bags at the hotel and start exploring the area. At 1:00 pm, the group will assemble at your hotel for the evening and travel through the city to your first stop, the Bay Bridge, with a stunning afternoon vista from Lincoln Avenue and Baker Beach. Afterwards, a tour out to Alcatraz Island and a cruise on the bay will allow you to enjoy fantastic vistas and skyline of the city, along with exploring this historic prison and island. Upon returning to shore, you will enjoy a wonderful welcome dinner at the Wharf before having the rest of the evening to explore the city at your leisure.

Day 2: Yosemite National Park
Early rise to get out of the city and on our way to Yosemite National Park. You will travel across the Central Valley into the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada’s and then climb up to Tioga Pass and Tuolumne Meadows, where you will enjoy lunch and the opportunity to hike in the Sierra Nevada’s along the John Muir Trail or up to one of the many high alpine lakes and granite peaks found in this area.
Toward the end of the day, you will travel down into Yosemite Valley, where you will watch the sun setting on El Capitan, Half Dome, and the many waterfalls that will be cascading down the granite cliffs all around the valley. You will then have some free time to enjoy the rest of the evening exploring the valley. There are many restaurants to choose from and plenty to see. You will check into your hotel at the end of this busy day.

Day 3: Yosemite National Park
One of the best parts of Yosemite is in the valley, there is plenty to do within the valley itself. You will spend the day exploring the many areas in and around the valley, including the Ansel Adams Gallery, Yosemite visitors centers, Upper and Lower Yosemite Falls, and walk along the Merced River to see Vernal Fall, Emerald Pool, Silver Apron and for those hearty souls, Nevada Fall. You will also have the opportunity to travel up to Glacier Point. From this point you can enjoy one of the most breathtaking and uninterrupted views of the valley. There is an excellent free shuttle service that runs throughout the valley to allow the group to pick and choose where they go and what they want to see. At the end of the day enjoy another relaxing evening before retiring again for the night.

Day 4: Sequoia & Kings National Park.
This morning you will depart Yosemite and move on to another equally beautiful region of the Sierra Nevadas: Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks. En route to the next park, you will pass through the Fresno/Clovis metropolitan area. As you climb back up out of the Central Valley, you will enter into Sequoia National Park and make your first stop at Grant Grove. The General Grant Tree is the second largest tree in the world and the nation’s Christmas Tree. This 1,650 year old Sequoia will just amaze you. You can enjoy an easy, half-mile walk around this giant Sequoia tree surrounded by a forest of sugar pine, incense cedar, white fir, black oak, mountain dogwood, and California hazel. You will also have the opportunity to be amazed with other Sequoia trees throughout the area including one you can walk through.
In the afternoon, you will descend into Kings Canyon. You will see Grizzly Falls, Roaring River Falls, and explore Zumwalt Meadows. There are great walking/hiking trails for those interested and multiple scenic points. This valley is one of the hidden gems of the Sierra Nevada’s.
Once the group has drunk our fill of knowledge and the beauty of the area, you will move on to your lodging for the evening at the John Muir or Wuksachi Lodge inside the parks. Here you will enjoy a relaxing dinner and evening.

Day 5: Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks & Cambria/Pacific Coast
Today will be a day of further exploring the other sides of Sequoia National Park. You visit the General Sherman tree and many other groves of Sequoia’s in the region. Hikes to some of the waterfalls in this area are also available to those interested.
In the early afternoon, you will say goodbye to the Sequoias and the Sierra Nevadas and travel down into the Central Valley on your way to the California Coast and the Pacific Coast Highway. You will pass through hundreds of thousands of acres of orchards and fields as you drive through the fruit and vegetable basket of America.
Our last stretch of road before you reach the coast will be through beautiful rolling hills of Paso Robles. This time of the year, they are covered with beautiful green grass and luscious trees. For those interested, the group could stop at one of the local wineries in the area for a tour and tasting. This area is one of the most popular for small wineries. Finally, you will descend into the coastal town of Cambria where you will lodge for the night. You will enjoy dinner and for those interested we can take a walk along Moonstone beach as the sunset paints the sky.

Day 6: Pacific Coast Highway
This morning you will depart Cambria and head up the coast along Pacific Coast Highway 1. This is a beautiful scenic drive along the coast that offers breathtaking views of lighthouses, wildlife, old-growth forests, and miles of rugged coastline. In certain months, you might be able to see female and junior elephant seals molting, sea otters, humpback whales, gray whales, and other aquatic wildlife as you travel along the coast. Something new will greet us at every turn. The group will enjoy a lunch at Nepenthe. Also, you will have the opportunity to visit the Pfeiffer-Big Sur State Park and enjoy seeing the Coastal Redwoods. These trees are some of the tallest trees in the world, over 300 ft high. You will finish traveling along this coastline with the famous 17-Mile drive near Carmel, California.
In the late afternoon, you will enjoy Cypress Cove and Point Lobos State Park and other areas surrounding Monterrey itself. Plenty of hiking and sightseeing opportunities are here. Once finished you will enjoy a wonderful farewell dinner overlooking the ocean and lodge for the evening along the sea shore. your hotel for the night will be nestled within 17 mile drive in Pacific Grove next to the Links at Spanish Bay Golf Club.

Day 7: Depart San Francisco
This morning, you will be able to arise with the sounds of the waves crashing against the beach and the option for a relaxing hike as the waves roll in. On the way back to San Francisco Airport (2 hours) we will pass the areas where Google, Apple, Yahoo, and many of the other tech companies call home. You will arrive back in San Francisco around 1:00 PM for your flight home.
