Capitol Reef National Park

One of the less crowded parks of Utah, Capitol Reef National Park offers a unique blend of colorful rock formations and narrow canyons unlike other places in Utah. The area around Capitol Reef is loaded full of spectacular scenery and unbelievable landscapes making any tour through this area very gratifying.

The name "Capitol" comes from the large sandstone feature named Capitol Dome that looks like the capitol building of the United States. Geologically, the park preserves the unique landscape formed by a large rupture in the Earth's surface called the Waterpocket Fold.
