Arches and Canyonlands National Parks

Two of Utah's iconic national parks are located near the resort town of Moab – Arches & Canyonlands. Located adjacent to canyons gouged out by the Colorado River, Moab itself offers a variety of spectacular scenery that isn't in a national park, plus there is nearby Dead Horse Point State Park.

Arches National Park preserves the most abundant collection of amazing natural arches and bridges on Earth. Along with arches, you'll see balanced rocks, windows and large sandstone fins. The national park is located just 4 miles north of Moab.

Canyonlands National Park covers a huge swath of remote canyons that drain into the Colorado and Green Rivers. The national park is divided into 3 districts: Island in the Sky, the Needles, and the Maze. The Needles requires a long and dedicated day to visit, whereas the Maze can only be accessed by remote and rugged 4WD roads. Island in the Sky is the most accessible, being only a 45 minute drive from Moab on paved roads.
