Q: Hi Adam! Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started with Southwest Adventure Tours.
A: I'm Adam Bath, also known as Captain Adam and I've been with Southwest Adventure Tours for almost 3 years. It's been a great time, exciting time, and we have a wonderful group of people. My first guiding experience was actually on a sailboat. I would take people sailing for sunset tours around Fort Myers Beach Florida. I've been doing that for about 5 years, that's usually what I typically do in the wintertime. But I also run wave runner tours in Key West and kayak tours in Key West so I've had a lot of guiding experience. It's just been for the last few years that I've done the hiking tours here in Utah, which I'm a Utah native so I'm very familiar with it, and it's a great excuse for me to get out in the country again.
Q: What do you think sets Southwest Adventure Tours apart from other tour companies?
A: The way we encourage people to go beyond what they think is possible. We are an adventure tour company so we like to get out in the wild and do some hiking and go to those spots that most other tour companies on a regular motorcoach wouldn't see. We take you to the good stuff and it's always a great experience. Everybody leaves here just feeling like a rockstar, and they can't wait to get home and show everyone their pictures.
Q: What would you say makes you special as a guide?
A: I'm one of the younger guides and I think that I bring that youth and that energy. I like to rock out in the van. I like to play good music, play games in the van, just keep everyone on their toes and make sure that they're laughing and having a good time.
Q: So which is your favorite tour destination that you go to?
A: I'm definitely a Moab guy! I love Moab, I used to go rock climbing there all the time. Arches and Canyonlands, that area is very special to me. I was very fortunate this last season to get up into Yellowstone, so that's a new place for me and it's so exciting to see all of the different parts and I still have so much to see. It's hard to choose but I'm really excited to get back into Yellowstone this year.

Q: Any last thoughts?
A: I'm hoping to grow and meet some more amazing people this year. I think that's kind of the best part of all of this is these great experiences. But those experiences are even better when you have a really fun group and I'm really looking forward to that.
